Kongehøj II – a Bronze Age house with many possibilities

House K1 from Kongehøj II was excavated by Museum Sønderskov and is situated in the southern part of Jutland. All the postholes in the house were sampled for macrofossils during the excavation and as far as possible the filling from the trace after the post and the filling surrounding the post were kept separate. This sampling strategy open up for discussions about the importance of keeping the fillings separate and the additional information this strategy can give to the functional analysis of a house.

Furthermore, cereals from K1 were used in a ph.d. project about the use of fertilizing in Danish prehistory and these result showed the importance of being careful with overall interpretations based on single contexts from different structures during different time periods.
